When I started TripleCord Real Estate in 2012, my plan was to be the sole agent in my own brokerage. But I quickly found that though “the heart of man plans his way, the Lord establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9). And oh, how perfectly and surprisingly He establishes them! Shortly after starting my business, I was honored to have Mark Gould join the company, followed by the sweet blessing of Becka Marston in 2013, then the gracious provision of Karin Schick in 2015, and most recently, the perfectly timed gift of Ken Sugarman.
As a broker, you desire the agents within your brokerage to exemplify the characteristics that you find most important in your business. You want to know that your clients will be cared for by your agents in the same manner you would seek to care for them yourself. As the broker of TripleCord, my desire is not to find the agents who will make the most transactions in a year, bring in the greatest commissions, or fill our database with potential future clients. Instead, I seek agents who love the Lord and love people, who use their gifts for the benefit of others, who work diligently, communicate well, deal with others honestly, and who do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than themselves. Although this can be a rare find in the world of real estate or in the world in general, I marvel at how the Lord has provided TripleCord with agents who embody just that.
Ken Sugarman, the most recent agent to join TripleCord, exemplifies these treasured characteristics. In Genesis 22, Abraham calls the Lord “Jehovah-Jireh”, which is Hebrew for my provider and my vision. The addition of Ken at this particular time has filled a great need in our company that I wasn’t even aware existed. For that, I give thanks to Jehovah-Jireh, for He is indeed a great provider, our vision, and the only one who knows our need before we even know to ask Him =-)
Ken, his wife Nancy, and their two sons Johnny and Eli recently moved back to the Boise area after spending the last several years in Washington and California. Before beginning his career in real estate, Ken coached college basketball for 15 years and also spent 6 years in sales and marketing. Upon meeting him for the first time, I could instantly see how his caring personality combined with his gifts in mentoring and problem solving as well as his past work experience in coaching and customer service had prepared him with the skills necessary to be an exceptional real estate agent. He is a hard working man of integrity, who loves people, and has a deep understanding of the importance of building strong relationships. He seeks to meet the needs of his clients before his own and guides them in their decision making process in ways that are both informative and empowering. I am excited to see all the ways the Lord will utilize his gifts in our company to positively impact the lives of our clients and enrich their home buying and selling experiences.
